Janus

  • Ventilation mask

Janus is a mask for the treatment of respiratory complications in critically ill patients during endoscopic procedures.

Unlike all other available devices, Janus can be used both in elective procedures and intraprocedural emergency situations. Thanks to a patented system, it can be positioned around an already inserted endoscope, allowing the physician to begin the ventilation without having to remove the instrument.

The positioning of the mask allows to begin a non invasive ventilation to complete the procedure even in the case of acute respiratory failure, while ensuring an excellent degree of maneuverability of the instrument.

In case of need, the mask can be opened and removed whilst leaving the instrument in place.

This mask can be used in Gastroenterology, for the following procedures: Gastroscopy (EGD), Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Echoendoscopy (EUS) e Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) in patients affected by ALS.

In Pneumology, for the following procedures: Bronchoalveolar lavage in patients affected by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Bronchial thermoplasty e Endoscopic lung volume reduction (ELRV).

This mask can be used in Intensive Care for fiberoptic intubation of difficult airways.

In Cardiology, for transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) monitored procedures: Transcatheter aortic heart valve (TAVI) and MitraClip Percutaneous Mitral Valve Repair System.

Janus is a universal device for endoscopic ventilation.

It can be used with all types and with all measures of probes.
